Sacristian / Altar & Church

RESPONSIBLE TO / REPORTS TO:
Pastor

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY (Why do you exist?):
To keep the Church looking clean and beautiful.

FUNCTIONS:
To keep the sacristy and sanctuary clean and polished, and also to keep fresh flowers on the altar. We also prepare the church for holidays.

OUTCOMES/GOALS (How will you measure your success?):
Our goal is to keep things in the church in their proper place and keep the church well groomed. We measure our success by how well we conform to the standards of liturgical propriety.

TIME REQUIRED:
A few hours a week. This time increases around holiday time when there is more to be done to prepare the church.

TRAINING & SUPPORT PLAN:
Herberta Young trains sacristans as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:
A willingness to help out.

TENURE/LENGTH OF ASSIGNMENT:
As long as member is willing and able.
