Parish Debt Reduction Update
Final Months of Assessment Free Period
Since the summer of 2007, our parish has made significant progress in reducing our parish debt despite challenging economic times. Thanks to the 495 parishioners who have pledged over $950,000 to this campaign through June 2011.
In an effort to maximize contributions to the parish debt for the remainder of the “assessment free” period, the Parish Campaign Committee asks that several opportunities for additional giving be available in April, May and June.
It’s not too late to give to this effort:
In June 2007, our parish debt was $1.8 million. Our remaining debt is now $785,226 ($649,028 principle and $136,198 unpaid interest). The parish has also saved a significant amount of money by reducing the interest expense paid on principle. (Paying 7% interest on $1.165 million in June of 2007, and now paying 6.5% interest on $649,028 as of March 31, 2011.) We do not pay interest on unpaid interest.
Again, thank you all for generously supporting this effort to improve our parish financial standing in these final three months of our campaign.
