What is a Parish Council?
Our Parish Council (also called a Parish Pastoral Council) is a group of people whose job it is:
- to promote the spiritual growth of the parish community
- to plan ways for the parish to carry out the mission of the church
- to be a consultative body that assists the pastor in matters of pastoral activity
- to deliberate on matters of importance to the parish
The Parish Council is not a governing board and does not make decisions as boards of trustees, civic and/or business councils often do.
