History of Eucharistic Adoration
We began this wonderful practice here at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church with Eucharistic Adoration for vigils of special holy days and feasts, such as the feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Lent, Advent, etc. in 1988.
In about 1990, we started 24-hour Holy Week Adoration that began on Palm Sunday and went through Holy Thursday until midnight, this we continued for almost ten years. Also about that time we began monthly 24 hour Eucharistic Adoration every first Friday through first Saturday morning.
There was always the grace of God and a good number of committed adorers to make this run quite smoothly.
In August of 2000, we graduated to 24 hour weekly Adoration every Friday through Saturday morning. Thanks be to God, we are continuing quite well, with more and more people in attendance and more and more people dramatically changed and blessed through this regular one hour with Jesus!
